Hi all,
One of my speakers (Westlake BBSM4) is intermittently losing top end and level. Before I realized it was intermittent I thought I had a blown tweeter so I replaced the diaphragm. OK for a while, then it happened again. I checked everything up to the console outputs and so far so good. I've switched the leads to the speakers and I have a session later and I will see what happens. I have two questions:
1. Between the console output and the speakers I have a White 4700 EQ, a Marchand XM-9 crossover and my power amp. I have a hard time imagining something going wrong in those components or the wiring that would produce less top and level intermittently. Any ideas? Am I missing something?
2. Could a crossover problem inside the speaker produce those effects?
Thanks,
