I know the external SC Output and Input are unbalanced. Is it theoretically possible to make them balanced by having a custom PCB with the same input and output stage as the GSSL Board for balancing / de-balancing ?

Another thread I am reviving  :eek:

I set up my gssl with a switchable turbo mode and a single super sidechain mode. I used the diagram here on reply #4
http://groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=36643.0 It sounds great but I have one small problem with the superSC. I set up a drum buss and I added a 100Hz low pass filter @ 48db and I am getting strange readings when switching the sidechain.

Off = -16db compression
60 = -8db compression
90 = -12db compression
130 = -15db compression
200 = -6db compression

I check all the connections from the lorlin switch and they are correct but they seem to be out of order. Does this seem correct? Maybe I should test it with a 100Hz tone instead of a drum kit but still it doesnt make sense to me. Any ideas/thoughts?

EDIT:
40Hz Sine
Off = -12db compression
60 = -4db compression
90 = -6db compression
130 = -12db compression
200 = -4db compression

100Hz Sine
Off = -12db compression
60 = -7db compression
90 = -10db compression
130 = -12db compression
200 = -7db compression

Edit: Fixed routing and updated numbers (Ratio @ 4:1, Attack @ 3, Release @ .6)

Can anyone with a single super sidechain run a 100Hz sine wave, set the compression to 4:1, attack and release at 12 o'clock, and compression at -12 db with the sidechain off and tell me what compression you get from the other settings?

..is a 24VDC standard type relais with 1152R coil resistance (Omron has a high sensivity type as well).

You probably/maybe want http://no.farnell.com/multicomp/hrs2h-s-dc24v/relay-dpdt-2a-24vdc-tht/dp/9480226
a nominal 24VDC DPDT high sensivity relais with 2880R coil resistance (less than half the current demand of your linked omron relay and with the additional benefit of only 2/3rd the cost).
A 200R relay was never asked for (that was 200mW for the high sensivity type). This 200R in question is simply a voltage dropping resistor in series to a (ment for a different 800R coil resistance) 24VDC relay coil to operate at a +/-15V (=30VDC differential) supply voltage. For this high sensivity 2880R coil resistance, the voltage dropping resistor needed would be 720R. These relay coils can operate at a quite wide range, for usual from 75% up to 120% of nominal coil voltage, but an only 200R voltage dropping resistor will have the relay coil operating close to the 120% edge.

Thanks a lot!
Relays are a little new to me.
So, I buy this and a 720r resistor.
And the resistor.. I put between the 3 diodes where it's marked 200r?

2 x 1k2 meter illumination: What's this?
I bought this DC-meter

Do I need a separate led for it?

and
2k2 in led: I don't understand 2k2 for leds.
What's this?

I just startend to wire the SSC board from Gustav. In the right side of the 2nd IC is a Link marked. It looks different than the links in the gssl Main PCB. Do I have to  connect it? Thanks.

Hi
My new gssl is ok!
I want to add turbo board but i want to buil pcb and not buy it...
Where i can find schematics of turbo pcb?
Thanks!!!

PDF wil be ok.
Have to check that on an older computer. Mine is running with Linux and Sprint Layout didn't seem to like Wine the last time I tried.

The turbo board is a completely different thing. It is basically just a clone of the sideboard circuit already in the GSSL so with it the GSSL uses a stereo sideboard path and without it mixes stereo down to mono.

Hi,
thanx for pcb lay out but it is a problem.When I open a gbr  file with  CADCAM profesional program I got seperate a pads from traks.
Pcb pad are not connected with routed net,there are 1mm open space.

Hapy new year.
