It will work. You will need to take out a pattern control circuit, and recalculate capsule bias.
Just be aware, the SD capsules output is smaller, so you migt need to select the tube for a low noise to get sufficient S/N. It can be hard with EF86.
 
yes, it works. i did a similar mic circuit with ef12 instead of ef86, you can have a look here for inspiration:

Right, 15k it is! I don't know why I said 18k. Memory is going from bad to worse. :wink: For some reason I thought the resistor was a left out part as well and I was trying to figure out where the two parts would go.

Now to find a capsule !
