UA has some great looking, heavy RCA console knobs that they put on their "vintage" equipment. They're maybe bakelite, although I doubt it.

They put a limit of 4 knobs that you can direct from them... anyone know how to get to their supplier?

Thanks CJ,

I've ordered these knobs from them, but they gave me a limit of 4 knobs..

Also, I wanted to give a heads up to other builders out there who love console knobs and can't find them..

hell, i've spent $6 / per on old, dirty cracked ones.

thats a rip off.

Only 6$? Whao! Nice price! I had to pay 15$ for one! :green:

But with an old polishing machine and some nitro laquer later... they're alive.

They are plastic not bakelite ...[/quote]

Yeah, I don't know why he puts that on his site. They are plastic alright.

I bought them from leeds - they said they don't have them anymore. That was 2 month ago.

Maybe they're that expensive because they have to be polished by hand. Iam pretty sure it can't be done easily on a injection die molding machine. Probably you need two halfes of the molding thing - otherwise you will not get the knob out of the machine.

analog: The knobs 're sounding fantastic - really!
(with the right circuit behind it of course)

Hey guys,

I bought these knobs from Sonic Screwdriver, paypal'ed him money, he received it, acknowledged it quickly via email and then i've neither seen the knobs nor had any emails returned from him. Communication was non-stop before paypal, but as soon as i paid cat got his tongue....This was 1 month ago.

His email address is: [email protected]
This website is associated with his paypal account: http://www.revolutionrecording.com/

So in short, be careful dealing with Sonic Screwdriver...

[edit: to make less of a blunt accusation and more of a warning to others]
