Hi Justin,

My "Newbie" META needs updating, been away recently, but I'm trying to keep it a good balance between electronics learning and practical making-the-gear and audio tips...

I'll add these suggestions to it for now...

Great!

I thought about the "Newbies" Meta before posting, but wondered if some of the topics here would be useful to non-newbies that need to be reminded of certain theory?

J

Yes,

Maybe an "electronics info" META would be better- a kind of learning library?

Jakob, didn't Learner offer to make a "Reference META" a few months ago? I haven't seen him about.

Looks like it's all yours Justin!

Hi Justin,
Looks good.

All you need to do now is change the title of this thread to 'META - electronics theory' or something similar!

I know you guys are holding out on me with more links, more suggestions please!

Once there are enough links to compile a decent meta I'll clean this thread up into one alphabetically arranged stream of links.

J

Way over my head...
The only one I have used is the
"How to calculate the resistor value when you put a led to show the unit is on - formula"

http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/led.htm#calculate

I have another 'bendy pots' link - with formula:
http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/potsecrets/potscret.htm
(apologies if you've see it already)

(apologies if you've see it already)

No apology necessary. The whole point of this meta is to put as many links as possible into one conveniently accessible thread, not to mention the fact that a large proportion of my links were cobbled together from people here anyway (you know who you are  :guinness: )

Justin

The NEETS manuals at http://www.tscm.com/reference.html
Is there one for power supplies, or did I miss that?
Are you volunteering to start a psu META then?

I reckon this thread should stay with calculators and tutorials for everyday issues, but a dedicated psu meta may be needed at some point? With examples of various topologies for valve / solid-state etc. Any volunteers?

J

Ohm's law is covered comprehensively by the www.allaboutcircuits.com link in the first post, it's also well covered in the Newbie meta.
