Hey Don, that one looks a lot more simple. I guess what's been holding me back on building one of PRR's magic FET machines is that it needs a power supply. That's why the 9V one sounded kind of appealing.

What did you use for your 24v supply? Anyone have a cheap and easy way of getting a 24v supply??
 
@tubejay: If you have all the parts for the 1176 clone, u can build a simple 24v -0v power suply on vero board for the Fet matching thing.
Use sockets for everything and when you're done, take all the parts out and build the 1176.

I just use an old Heathkit DC power supply. Check ebay and you can find useable bench supplies pretty inexpensively.

Radiance's method will work fast and easy for this project.
