Hey guys,
Once I have finished my GSSL I'm going to step into Tube DIY, Ideally I would like to build a stereo pultec eq, but I figured maybe a stereo power amp would be a little easier as my first tube project.
This one would be intended for home hi-fi use not in the studio, does anyone have any reccomendations, do any particular projects stand out, or is this the wrong forum for such things?

Thanks

There's a plethora of DIY kits/projects for hi-fi amps out there.  Here's a couple for starters.

I don't know that a power amp is necessarily easier than the pultec if you're starting from scratch on each.  If you choose a kit for the power amp it probably would be.

Here's a nice collection of commercial schematics to choose from as well. Lots of hi fi amps:

As far as forums go, there's certainly some overlap though this forum tends to center on voltage amp pieces for studio use.  You may try the Magnequest Forum or Audio Asylum for a more centered focus on the hi-fi tube amps. There are numerous other forums as well - shouldn't be a difficult search.

Happy building

A tube power amp has the potential to release MUCH more smoke if something goes wrong IMHO...

Starting with the Pultec might be a little easier, cheaper, and/or safer.

I'd be building the pultec for my self, where as the amp would eb a gift for the old man.
Thanks for both of your advices, I'll probably just get a power amp kit just to get a feel of working with valves before I crack on with the pultec.
