Greetings!
I recently purchased an old Akai S-950 sampler from ebay and it arrived without a power cord. The AC socket was a weird
2 prong model I hadn't seen before. I couldn't find a suitable cable for it so I replaced it with a standard 3 prong model, but I
only connected the two wires into it. My question is this: Should I solder a 3rd wire for the AC socket and connect it to the chassis
for proper grounding? What would be the correct and safe way? The unit is working fine now, no hum, pops etc. but I just want to
make sure it's safe in case I decide to sell it or something.
Thank you for your time!
Sami
P.S. I can take pics of the unit if needed.
