Im about to "convert" my Gyraf 1176 (MNATS version pcb) from rotary to Hairball pushbutton. Has anyone else done this, and is it a straight forward process? Any wiring issues or does the numbers still match?

I can see the numbers do not match..  The numbers 15,16 & 19 are not present on the Hairball ratio PCB.

Also, the R1-R10 on the HB Ratio board.. What values should i use? the value table from HB (http://hairballaudio.com/docs/FET_Compressor_PCB_Board_Info_V2.pdf) only shows Rev A,D and F/G.. Im on Rev J.

Sorry, im new to this and a bit confused :)

Use the F/G values.

The link provided above will answer the rest of your questions.

The link http://hairballaudio.com/docs/FET_Compressor_PCB_Board_Info_V2.pdf is no longer working and the website only lists Rev A & D.

See the attached for correct resistor values.
And mnats page for the wiring

According to my notes (and cross-comparisons) I'm seeing R1 on the ratio board (aka "R87" on other BOM's) as 150R ohms (not 56k ohms).

Can other confirm which is the correct value?

Otherwise, everything looks correct to me on your jpg there.  Good stuff.

fixed

Just getting back to this project.

Passing audio but having issues with calibration; as attack pot 22 seems to already be disabled/grounded on +4  VU so I can't calibrate.
Been running through the resistors used and 150R is correct.

Hi, I building with a G1176 board and are going to use pushbuttons as well. Did you come up with a solution for the calibrations problem for the VU?

I was not successful calibrating the meter and have way too many days invested, so I decided to install a Rev D instead.

This works.

Be careful to follow exactly mnats wiring on his site for pushbutton.

I made the mistake of grounding BLK. Once the ground was removed, I was able to calibrate the unit.

Cheers

Oh perfect! Glad it worked out for you :)

22 was grounded the whole time and obviously didn't respond to the putting it to ground during calibration.

Once I fixed that, I thought it was working until I went through the whole cal process.

Still not working and I have waaaaaaaay too much time invested to the point I've given up and ordered the Rev D boards to install.

Hope you're more successful than me
