Has anyone done this?  There is a ticking noise I believe in the right channel playback section.  It appears that it will be pretty difficult to get to the 2nd ch board.  Has anyone ever done this or have any tricks to getting to the caps?

Thanks!

I recapped a mono EMT valve plate a few years back.
Basically it is a bit fiddly & you just have to be patient & careful.  I remember that some of the old caps were easier to cut out rather than desolder just to avoid burning bits with the iron.

Also the wire was insulated with a cloth wrap that started to unravel if I wasn't very careful.

Hey,
I should upload a photo for people to see.  There is a two tier board assembly and of course the bottom one is the one I need to get to.  If I could even get my iron on the situation I think I could get the caps off, its just getting to the things.  Anyone done a stereo unit that would like to share?
