Hi

Looking for a simple phantom power project. Seen some people use a B+ and a zener, (don't want to do that) or voltage doubler/triplers (seems more complicated). Came across this:

115/230 primary 115 secondary. In USA with ~120 nominal house power, so if I wired the primary in series, would this net 60v at the secondary? (And I'm assuming that would be at now ~200mA?) which should be enough to use a conventional ic regulated pwr supply (i.e. boards available) to get a regulated +48v with something like a LM317 (seems to exceed rating) or a TL783 for at least 5-10 mics?

It's rated at 50VA. Under half voltage, it shoud be capable of 25. That's a good 400mAmp AC, that would be about 85V 280mAmp DC, good for 25+ microphones.
LM317HV or TL783 with minimal heatsink are ok for 10 mics.
