Well, there are some listed on ebay, but for 28.00...its hardly a good deal

Is there another way to go? Maybe a three position switch?

I got a Simpson vu meter on the way...

you mean 100k?
1M is stereo adj. and (meter) zero adj. and lim. resp.
multi-turn trimmer pots are good for that.
...I'm looking at the urei scheme.

If you don't require the locking type there's hundreds of other 1M pots in the 2-6$ range.

OK..wow..I was way off...can you tell I only got 5 hours of sleep over the last two days...

Listing one part and thinking about another...my brain is running low on power

What about SW#2?  You guys know a good source?

Digikey...

Digi-Key Part Number RV4L105C-ND

Maybe Im lost kazper-Were you going for the part from above(or the +4,GR,+10 sw#2)...I thought sw#2 was like a 2 pole with three positions each?

It's from your post.... you can pay $40 for a vintage AB or spend $10 for the same thing but new, not old stock.

Your switches are not magical, drip recommended the switch set from Radioshack with the solder tabs. $6 got all 3.

Catalog #: 275-322

You can use more expensive switches if you like, just look in mouser or digikey.

You may want to reference the Drip Opto build documents. It has good references to the parts to build a LA2A. His rev #1 and Rev #2 versions were less modifications and more LA2A, where the current version has 2 T4B's. I believe he does not have the docs anymore due to a trashed HD. I think there in the group account.

Just a FYI www.dripelectronics.com

Lets clear this up a bit, college101 clearly asks about the meter switch (SW#2).

Depending of witch revision there are two popular possibilities:

A 2 pole, 3 position rotary switch for +4dB/GR/+10dB a la the 1968 rev LA2A

or

a 2 position DPDT toggle switch for +4dB/GR a la Drip LA2A

... a matter of taste

Thanks Sredna- thats exactly what I am looking for...It was actually just a geuss that would be the type of the switch I would need to use, but it sounds like Im right after all!  I am going off of the 68 schematic...

Roger that... forgot about the real deal using the rotary switches.

some additional info found at http://www.recproaudio.com/diy_pro_audio/teletronix_la2a.htm

Any adjustable 2 pole 3 pos rotary switch should be good for that...

You building a point to point clone or a repair/rebuild...?

Not the same exact part, but something that would work...

Just as a reference...

(I'd buy them from Mouser)

But I like the Greyhill parts (more stout)

Something like this http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=9487248

Kazper-Im building it turret style like recproaudio's version of the 68- I think p2p would be way too hard for me, and I would mess something up for sure..turret style looks a lot cleaner and organized

Just got my drill press yesterday to start making the turret board

Sredna-I definitely want to keep the voltage out of the GR...have any suggestions on a good switch for that?

http://www.mouser.com/Catalog/catalogusd/642/1733.Pdf

Lorlin BBM switch (Non Shorting) 4X, 3 Pos switch, with Solder tabs.
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Lorlin/CK1461/?qs=VJkHNLJxjTeeMuI8T3ozUQ%3d%3d

But I prefer the more metal Greyhill switch but there almost $20 more.

101 - a turretboard construction IS to concider as P2P (point to point)!

Regarding GR switch, just make shure its a non shorting type (BBM).
Lorlins will work, maybe a little on the cheap side.
A metal/ceramic switch would be more robust and look more authentic.

Kazpers suggestion, Greyhill, is an exellent modern switch.

yes sredna...I know it is point to point..( very well organized point to point)...I've Just seen some purist's on here that have yelled at some people for not specifically stating what they are doing... Just trying to play it safe and not get yelled at by people..
