Hi!
How would you compare these units:
in terms of
- Time/difficulty
- Sound-quality/flavour
- Cost
After realizing it was maybe not a tube-compressor I wanted (but rather a tube-preamp),
I've been looking for a versatile compressor to build.
Tracking and mixing. Should handle all kind of sources.
Ratio down to 2:1 is a plus (I guess that's what I'll use most when tracking).
An easy build and few vendors is also nice. Kits saves time and a good manual is welcome.
A mono compressor is an option, but not first choice.
Clean or character, but should be able to serve as an all-purpose compressor.
Style is typical in the acoustic/jazz/classical/pop -landscape
I'm leaning towards the SB4000, but would like hear your opinions.
Thanks!
