I thought you guys might like this one. I finally finished my Sta-Level expansion unit. It is a one-unit box with xlr I/O, attack and release controls, bypass, and a microphone input. It attaches to my vintage Gates Sta-level with a molex connector. The circuit is nothing clever - pots in place of the relavent time constant resistors. I took my Sta-Level to the hardware store and had them match the paint, and had a local place laser engrave it. Here are some pics:

nice and useful build ben!  out of curiosity would you have a schem of what the circuit looks like.
interested in how you implemented it via the molex out from the original unit.

Haha, at first i just looked at the pictures and thought you hade made some sort of "fake" unit to look cool in the rack. But then I read the description and it all made sense.
