hey gang,
finally getting around to troubleshooting a bad channel on my Sytek MPX4a-ii some more. There is white noise on the output of channel whether a mic is plugged in or not. I was probing around for voltages and discovered that if I touch the leads from my MM on a point that is passing 48v phantom, then the white noise disappears for a few seconds but then returns. I am also getting 48v on pin 2 of the input channel when the phantom switch is turned off. I read something about blocking caps for preventing DC from getting into the circuit. I have replaced nearly all of the electrolytic caps already and swaped a couple ceramics with a working channel and no dice. any ideas?
cheers,
BD
