Hi All,
I'm trying to calibrate a TL Audio Fat 1 compressor, as per the instructions I found online.
When correctly calibrated, the threshold on my unit behaves differently to each channel. There is a gain adjustment for each channel before the compressor, and when the compressor is bypassed, the output gain is equal. When the compressor is connected, and the threshold is set to +10db (effectively no compression) the output gain is equal also. When pulling down the threshold, one side is compressed more than the other.
I can compensate with increasing the input gain on the board on the lower channel, but I was thinking this would give an uneven compression characteristic between the two channels. Maybe it's a dodgey pot on the threshold? Or possibly the makeup gain pot?
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Cheers in advance.
