I think this meta-thread has been along way coming and I've taken it upon myself to kick it off. I hope you find it useful. This is not the definitive guide and you are welcome to add or suggest further links and I will update them.

Since there have been quite a few versions of the Green Pre I've tried my best to describe which one is being referred to in the posts below, but I'm sure a lot can be learned from the previous designs as well.

Peter has finished V14 is shipping the PCB.

Hey Peter

I was hoping to buy some green pre pcbs and I tried emailing you last week, but maybe it went to your junk mail?

Dear Peter,

The links to buying a kit do not work.  Any link available?  I am growing interested in this project because I am looking to build such a preamp.

Thanks guys,

Thanks!
Mostly curious at this stage. Are they with HPF, Pad, Ø and 48V, transformer in/out, 2U hight? What voltage?

Have a good read of the 'All things Green' thread, this will give you all the details you need and a lot more!
Thanks :) Yes, it's the "a lot more" part I'm not always so found of.

The 'a lot more' part usually comes in handy, come debugging time. Reading is what all of us spend 75% of our time doing. RESEARCH...get used to it.

I see, but I had a simple question in my mind: Does the Green Pre as default come with high pass filter?
Now, should I really have to go through forum-threads, I don't know how many pages, to maybe find the answer to that question?
Not to mention that half of those links are dead.
Or maybe that's a wrong way of thinking about DIY pres and HPF. But, that's part of what newbies does, asking wrong questions.
How helpful do I really find the answer: "It's on the www -just read it all".
Sorry, just a little frustrated.

The V14 Green has a gentle HPF (12db/octave or so), also Phase switch & Phantom. Also has a 4 LED meter, no transformer balancing on the ins or outs.

Switched gain control and it does not need a pad.

Regards
Peter

You know what? That really answered most of my questions regarding the green pre :) :)
(..made me having a few other questions though, but, I'll see if I can find out myself.)
Thanks!

I need help finding a BOM for the Green Pre (V14)!

I ordered a stereo pair and the info on the part numbers from Mouser are scattered all over the place... Does anyone have a list of order/part numbers from Mouser?! I want to be able to get most everything from one place...

Also, I was wondering what ya'll think about using a Cinemag CMOQ-2S Output Tranny (CMOQ-2H 600:600 all or mostly nickel)???? I need all the help I can get, first time I've sourced parts and I'd rather do it right the first time than have to buy parts twice... Thanks in advance! :-D
