AKG c422 control box s42 assistance sought

brandy new to the forum and of limited skills
I have
1) made a pedals in the past
2) 3 c12 mic side grades
3) I can follow instructions
4) I am detail oriented
5) I can solder

limits
1) eyesight
2) brain power (I am not an engineer)
3) time (new baby in the house)
4) troubleshooting prowess

all that said, I have a akg 422 with out an s42 control box and despite a few years of looking for one - non are turning up.  I have the schematics from AKG but don't think I can build a quality unit from scratch without some help.  What would be the best approach using the knowledge this type of forum has to offer?  Are one off PCBs doable?  I can stuff components easily enough.
