I made a brief video showing a cheap ($11.75 or so shipped) camera flash I plan to mod for in-camera special effect shots.

I'll try to be careful.

I just uploaded part 2, if anyone cares.

I want to get the soldering done today. I think I have a good plan.

Although I'm actually wondering now if I should tie together the red and the remaining green, to have two wires carrying the "hot" side. I'm thinking that might not be a bad idea.

Good news and bad news: The remote bulb flash works, but the phone connectors spark really bad in the process. They just can't handle the voltage going through. I'll have to rethink this, if I haven't blown up anything in the circuit yet already.

I'm sure if I had done some back-of-envelope calculations, I would've known this in advance. Video forthcoming.

EDIT: Here it is. I decided not to try to get footage of the light show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=48syZRA64Qw
