Didn't we all start DIY with a GSSL?

I did.  And it'll always have a special value that's nearly priceless in comparison to other builds.  Actually I had modded a few things first, I.e. chameleon labs, gap 73, vla ii, etc...

I then did a five fish kit; with everything labelled and easy. Then capi. I then got bored.

I then coughed up a Hairball.

And than a few Gyrafs via Gustav.

I now find the sourcing of parts one of the best ways to beginning to understand how the circuit works. I take my time now. For instance; Why do I need the more expensive 450v Nichisons? Cause the cheap Indiana's won't fit right and I might zap myself or even worse screw up an expensive component or even the PCB.

And trust me I'm still very green but im really enjoying this old beat up oscilloscope.

Hi There,

An update: the boards are ready and most of the components are on their way (I bought then locally).

But I have a question and since it´s a simple and quick one I hope someone could help.
Mouser has 2 possible THAT 2181B, 2181BL08-U and 2181BS08-U:

http://br.mouser.com/_/?Keyword=THAT+2181B&FS=True

Which one should I choose best for the New GssL?
Thanks in advance
Alex

From your posted link click on datasheet/Ficha tecnica in order to read about the differences between the VCAs SIP or SO package (and their shape, outer dimensions, pin spacing, ...) and decide hereafter, if a single-in-line package or a surface mount package would be the correct one for your pcb.
