I searched about it on internet without real explanation. What's is the characteristic of this design? What definite this circuit versus, for exemple, a Neumann or akg one?

Does AKG or Neumann used variations of schoeps circuit in some models?
I have in my long-term plans, to do some preamps, based on CMC5, for the old polish condenser microphones (made under license of german MB electronics). They have good capsules but unfortunately weak preamp design, so the transformerless schoeps circuit would be best to start :)
Any theory about schoeps style circuit would be interesting! ;)

Thanks. I didn't know about the weakness of their preamp circuit. I heared lot of people modifying them but never know why.

I meant the Unitra mics preamps have weak preamp design, not schoeps :)

I think the EEVblog had a nice series on mic preamps with ex Rode designer Doug Ford - explaining the schoeps preamp in detail.

you might want to watch the videoblog.
