I like to make eyelet board board constructions, and have been thinking about sourcing some boards from a laser cutting service.

I normally shape Garolite FR4 boards on my own tools but I am attracted to the idea of trying some laser cut shapes.

I am wondering  how solder temperatures effect Plexiglass. I usually choose eyelet rather than turret board construction ( it's just a personal preference borne from habit )  and would like to know if a 1/8" thick piece of Plexiglass will allow for soldering with eyelets without melting, deforming, etc.

Thanks for any info you can share.

Thank You.

Look up the MSDS for the plastic.  You need to be carefull with plastics when machined and heated some give off nasty chemicals.  I did not think plexiglass was laser cut due to the fumes.
