Are there any large format 12:1 transformers for C12-like circuits?

I am curious to learn if there is a source for a large format transformer that may serve as an alternative for the AMI T14 or Cinemag CM-13114.

It seems like it would be fun to try something like that just to satisfy a curiosity, so I looked around but didn't find any vendors that have them available for off the shelf sale.

Does anyone know of a source?

I'm pretty sure that Lundahl has some in their list - http://www.lundahl.se/our-products/microphones/ - e.g. LL1636 1+1+1+1:10+10, that you can wire for 12:1 with a bit of creativity..

the LL7905 looks like a candidate also..

..no I don't get a commission from them, although I should probably ask about that :)

Does anyone have a photo of the AMi T14 (or Cinemag -13114) and the SAMAR 12:1 displayed side by side for size comparison?

The description at SAMAR's website describes the transformers as being sized as drop in replacements for many import mics. I have been imagining that a large format transformer for a C12 application would be nearly twice as large as the T14 shape.

Thank You.

OPR posted a link.
Look at the top photo.  :)

I thought that was a I/O Audio Bv next to a AMI T14. :)

Is the larger transformer shown a SAMAR 12:1?

Is it the same CT12 described here?: http://www.samaraudiodesign.com/BobbinTransformers.html or is it a special large sized item that SAMAR makes on request?

Thank You.

These are different to the Ct12  as they have a bigger core...best to email or PM Marik for more details.

The CT12 are different--those are single bobbing transformers and were designed to fit Chinese microphone bodies (MXL2001, and alike). The new series of transformers are dual bobbin and are not on our website, yet. They are larger and of much higher quality and specs. They wound in sections (like original BV8), have very low DCR and excellent low end overloading characteristics.

Best, M

Thank You Marik.

I'm very interested in your new transformer. I hope you will post some dimensional measurements so I can consider how it will fit in a mic body.

Just want to second trans4funks1 request for a mounting profile and dimensions, please Marik - thanks!
