I am looking for c800g clone in Europe. I can't to import JJ Audio Akita etc. because there is CE legislation in Europe. Electronics imported without CE marking are utilized :( Help me please.

Well first off I don't see how the Akita resembles the C800 in any way except for the tube compliment and maybe the transformer. Most significantly as it pertains to the capsule. The C800 uses an edge terminated back port type capsule and it appears that the Akita has a center terminated type. I will admit I have never heard an Akita but I have heard the distinct difference in character between edge termination and center termination and it is apples and oranges. Nether is better or worse than the other but they are different for sure. The better or worse is too subjective but I will bet that the Akita sounds more like a U67 than a C800. MTC...

I would look for a used C37P or FET type:

You can find these for about what you would pay for an Akita and they have the same capsule as the C800

If you wanted to you could easily convert any of these to a tube Impedance amp type.

He's talking about the Sony C800G, which is a different mic than the C800 non-G.

The G-Version utilizes a K67 knock-off capsule on a high voltage plate out circuit, the tube being cooled by a heat sink and a peltier element. The 800G is very popular in the R 'n B / Hip-Hop scene.

Ah thanks for that I forgot about that mic. Funny as I almost bought one once. They cost like 8000.00 now right? Sorry for the confusion on my part.  So in short never mind!

Looking at the Akita with that in mind I guess that's a good deal. Yes buy just the mic minus the PSU and build it out.

Or maybe buy one of ioaudio's 67 clones and Chungers bodies.

or maybe buy something else, recond a hit song = make money.

No sony mic has ever made a platinum record (in hiphop term).

There are lots of great sounding mics out there (my current favorite being the Sennheiser MK8).

However, it's a fact that lots of platinum records were recorded with a Sony C800G.
