o.k. this a peculiar one. But I was asked of the possibility to do the following.  I have a guitar player friend who is looking to to have a box on his pedal board which has the following 2 X stereo inputs, 2 X stereo outputs the ability to switch the inputs so that input A can go out output B and vice versa. That's the easy part for me, I have that already designed. it's just a switch. But what has me puzzled is that he wants one of the outputs to have a pan pot. This would feed his stereo inputs on a loop[ pedal he has.  This is so that he can play with things in the stereo field.  any ideas passive or otherwise?

I might…

but just to be clear - is it "stereo" like a guitar amp on stage left and a guitar amp on stage right?

i have been doing some work on 2 output pedal board buffer boxes these days...

Yes... As how it was explained to me, when he runs stereo in and out of his looper pedal he would like to  sometimes be able to pan signal so that it's not always just the stereo signal. I guess you could best describe it as a balance pot where center is 50/50(stereo) and then you can alter the balance.... This would be for signals going into the input of the  looper

sounds like you just need a pan pot circuit as found on a mixing board,

so maybe a small 2 or 4 channel mixer would work,

this place has a lot of stuff for pedal boards>

if you can figure out how to get the pop out of a Big Muff during switching then let me know, i got someone heading out to tour with buddy Guy and he wants the clicks out of his pedal board,

if you already have the sw box built then you probably want to use it for the 1 box solution by adding a circuit like this>

all read was buddy guy's big muff has pops...  ;D been so long since i played with a muff I forget if the pop is audible in the amp or just mechanical noise.  hmmmm

Do a web search there are other sites that cover the questions.

To do it right so it does not pop and works most of the time on the road will take some designing and researching testing of parts.

thanks Gus!

OT-web search turned up this article on pedal board pops while switching, >

do tell. can you link me?

Google "Ernie ball stereo volume/pan pedal"?

Links to maker self-puff, the usual vendors, YouTube videos of the thing in action......

Ernie ball makes a stereo volume/pan pedal that does this (I think). So you could build the switch and then feed the pedal.

do tell. can you link me?

This is the one I have
