This is the official support thread for the EZTube Lunchbox project. In this first post I plan to list links to all the documentation.  All the documentation is available on my web site but it is scattered across many projects so it makes sense to put links to it all in one place. Not all of it is available right now so I will post additions to this first post as they become available.

Lunchbox specific documentation first:

Great stuff. Really looking forward to building it, collected most of the parts.
I pictured having 2x VU meters next to 2x pre and 2x eq in my six slot,
i know it might be obvious that there wont be any room, since the "3U PSU V3" needs 1 slot, but i could be wrong?
As an example, could  the PSU board be fitted across two slots in some way to make room for the VU meters (without too much hassle)?

A lot depends on the size of the meters and how deep they go behind the panel. Do you have a part number or drawing? There is about 35mm depth behind the front panel before you hit the capacitors on the 3U PSU V3.  An alternative might be to mount the power supply PCB on the right hand side plate of the sub-rack.

Great Work Ian! It's amazing the amount of work you put in this project!

I'm putting together a farnell cart for 2x eurochannel and 2x helios,
has anyone done this allready and care to share?

I don't think you can get everything from  Farnell. They do not do all the 71 series Grayhill switches needed for the Helios and they definitely do not do the inductors or the tubes or the input transformer. The special parts that Farnell do stock are listed in the EZTube Mixer V3 PCB documentation (see first post).

Hi!

Allready got inductors and transformer. I sendt a mail to sowter transformers and got 2x sowter 1948c for 121gbp.
I was thinking about a cart for caps and resistors.

Resistors are all metal film quarter or one eighth watt types. All capacitors are metal film types with a working voltage of at least 50V with a 5mm lead spacing. There are lots to choose from. At one point my favourite type was a range by Panasonic but these to have been phased out. A lot of people like WIMAs. You just need to watch how fat they are. Every time I restock on EQ capacitors from Farnell I seem to buy different makes.

Hi Ian!

Thanks a lot Ian for sharing all this, lot's of precious data in there!
I remember you had a control room schematics that i found very useful i don't know if you plan to include it in the data.

You have a trivial typo in the last word of the document.....the month of novenber...

Regards,

Pierre

Thanks, Pierre. Typo fixed! I had completely forgotten about control room. I did a diagram for the MK3 which is in the blog but there is no explanation with it. I will put something together.

I read in the newspaper today that 70,000 Brits and about 1500 Frenchman sang the Marseillaise in Wembley stadium last night.

Hi Ian

There are some places on the V3 board that says "470". Just to be sure, its 470 ohm right? Not 470k?

Edit: I went for 470(r).

There is a spot below the V2 tube which says 50k, but there might be a "1" which is printed on the line, so it could be 150k?

Yes 470R is right. It is hard to get more than three letters inside the resistor box without making the letters too small to read so the ones that should arguably have an R at the end do not. The 680R resistors in the 20dB pad and the 140 R in the line input pad are done that way too.

Yes, you are right it is 150K. Like I said it is hard to get more than three characters in the box and in that case the 1 partly gets merged into the side of the box.

Question:

"The lowest gain resistor is the right most one which corresponds to switch position 1."

The one farthest away from the pushbuttons is the lowest gain resistor(150k?)?

That's right.

Hi Ian, really interesting project thanks a lot for sharing.
I have question about 3band  Pultec layout.
Values for 7kHz freq (for mids)  are 2n2+1n and 0.1H, but you use PIN B on inductor- 0.180H .
Is Error  in layout(use PIN B instead of PIN A) or in the table and you really want to use  2n2+1n and 0.18H.

thanks for reply and i`m sorry for my lame english.
