I've picked up a 1960 Lomo 82a-2 dynamic mic that looks super cool, and sounds pretty mediocre. No low end response and harsh 3-4K. Can anyone recommend a decent capsule that I could try to fit in here? I'd like good low end response to possibly use for kick drum bass, etc. I was thinking along the lines of a sennheiser 421, ev re 20, Beyer m88, or even a headphone speaker driver ala beyer's m380.

I had this bookmarked as a place to get a replacement capsule for an RE-20. But it's in Europe. I don't think I found a place in the states but I didn't look hard. It was just an FYI thing. http://www.10outof10.co.uk/acatalog/RE-PL-Series.html

You might want to get a cheaper capsule (maybe borrow one from an SM57/58 or something) to make sure that the harshness isn't part of the body/grill design.
