If you are looking for a less expensive (though unfortunately not by much) alternative to the A-10 you might want to try the A-11 instead of the A-12. The A-11 was really more appropriate for the LA2A to begin with design wise. They likely chose A-10 because of the higher input headroom. All three will work and all three will likely sound exactly the same (They're all UTC . . . . .)
