Hello all,

Does anyone know the material of which contacts in U47 for polarity switching and etc. are made of?
Silver plated brass? Pure silver? Other?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
ANdrew

Hi Andrew,

if you had in mind polar pattern switch, i'm not sure that there's switch at all.
It looks like plastic cover (with cardio/omni drawings) pulls up the brass contact (long one on the picture) from the back diaphragm.  Definitely it's brass.
Look at the picture from original unit and "tele-usa" version.

Thank you,

This is what I am talking about...but...they look not from brass for me...not yellow like brass :)

I thought the system when you make contacts touch each other is called switching? or am I missing something?

Sorry for my bad English though

Kind regards,
Andrew

My english isn't better, so don't worry :D
I had in mind switch as a complete part not a switching system :)
On the original pictures it looks like typical oxidized brass.

Yeah, Lucite and Plexiglass are the same thing. Both are of a higher grade than standard Acrylic.

Strange, never seen like this..

Maybe you are talking about the slider?

Kind regards,
Andrew

Yes - sorry I thought you were talking about the slider that closes the contact  :)

Well yes the plate is acrylic in my U47 as well  ;D

Sorry for the confusion.
