Hi All,

Just wondered if any one has been doing any App desgin with Apples Swift?

I've recently been teaching myself, really basic stuff at the moment, but its pretty awesome what you can do..

so far i've made some non-audio related projects, but then i thought! hang on! i wonder...

There are CoreMidi, 7 Audio kits, that seem pretty straigh forward to use...

just curious if there were others learning? prehaps we could work stuff out together..

best
Pete

I have looked into doing audio stuff with Swift. The short answer is it CAN and CAN'T be done.  :D Basically, audio signal processing needs to compile as close to machine level as possible. But there are some great people who are writing an API that is Swift on the programming layer but compiles to C/C++. Check it out. I'd love to here more about what you've learned and built in Swift. I am new to programming and learning Swift as well.

Given that the output of any compiler (and Swift is compiled) is processor instructions ....

Ya, but my 1's and 0's are better than your 1's and 0's!!!  My 1's go to 3 (11)!

;D
