Hi,

I have some issues with two of my units, I have built several 1176 now and have two which seem to work well with plenty of output and compression, I've called this working one the 1178 as its in a 2U unit.
The other is a G1176 and a blue stripe 1176.
These two don't work so well, the G1176 is thin sounding and has very low output.
The BS 1176 has loads of output but top end is dull, eqing in some 17k+ improves it but it would be nice to have a stock sound.
I have heard about R26 mod, can't seem to find out much about it but do I replace 56k for 100k pot?

The BS 1176 how can I improve the top end?

Regards

Spence.

Perform all your post-build testing and checks and then post results.
Measure your DC bias conditions, gain of each stage, measured compression curves etc. Otherwise you have absolutely no idea that anything is working correctly or as intended.
