I recently lashed out and bought myself a Fender Bassman reissue.
Its a great amp but having just recently rediscovered chris isaaks I've decided I can't live without spring reverb!
Fortunately I've got a spring reverb tank ripped from an old fender yale reverb and some DIY experience (construction not design)
Does anybody know of any schemetics / designs for a valve driven reverb?
The reverb is an accutronics model 8BB3C1B - I think - hard to read
anyway this means
150 Ohms input impedence
2,250 Ohms output impedence
Long Decay Time (2.75 to 4.0 sec.) - Wahoo!!!
Any help /ideas / advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks

Tom

Hoffman - does kits, parts, replacements and enhancements to fender spring reverbs (and a diy kit)

How about making it solid state ? Or that a second one, solid state and the first one with tubes. Great to have around as a box on the floor that can be kicked around for 'splash' :thumb:
I see people doing this with their standalone Fender tube-reverb units and that sounds fun but feels bad.

Peter

If ? 500 is okay with you, you can buy a nice all tube spring reverb here: http://www.federhall.de/ .
They also offer a fancy solid state spring reverb with synth module sound processing.

Theres a solidstate layout at http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/ that I can build I just thought that if I'm gonna do this I'd like to valverize it!
I don't really care if its 100% valve or hybrid but I'd like a tube in it somewhere.

Copy the link in a new window, then it works.

Yes, looks like a nice usuable box. Haven't played with one but would love to buy a 2nd hand one. What do these boxes go for these days ?

No biggie the osc. isn't tubed - it'd be a silly thing, of no use to make that tubed as well.

BTW, some more circuits: thought the Fender Vibroking uses an EL84 as reverb-driver, otherwise it seems to be the usual Fender standalone reverb box integrated in the amp (pre-preamp). Has been some issues there, maybe it wasn't a good choice.

IIRC, Fender changed the onboard reverb on the Vibroking to a 6V6 driver because the EL-84 wasn't tough enough for their circuit. Actually, the 6V6 would be an upgrade from the original 6K6 in the standalone reverb, at least in terms of durability and how much voltage it can take.

Try a Hammond AO-35 or AO-44, usually pretty cheap on eBone. The 35 uses a 12AX7 & EL84's and the 44 uses harder to find 6GW8's, I *believe* both are rectifed w/EZ81s. You'd need to diddle the output if you were inserting it via an effects loop, both have output xt's to drive an 8 ohm speaker. Look for shematics here:

Look for the M-100 scheemos
