Somehow I was expecting this responses. :green:
surely over 2,500 Watts (or nearly 4 HorsePower) of total dissipation and electric-bill. (Not counting any air-conditioning you may need to cancel what amounts to two good electric fires.)

Damping Factor is "only" 2 to 4; if you want to explore the "1/5Rp" rule for better damping, multiply your electric bill by 2 or 3.
7500Watts? :green: :green: :green:
Tipical PRR humor.
Thank you.

Ok, so OTL amp is off the list of things to try.
I feel much better.

I am quite interested in the power supply kit but sounds like it is an AC power supply not DC? Donno what you can do with an AC PSU, also after rectification and filtering or regulation does it matter if the AC supply was balanced or unbalanced to begin with?

Or do they mean this is a dual polarity PSU??

It is. Equi=Tech has some good reading material on balanced power:

Peace,

Once, when I was into Hi-Fi, I built quite a few OTLs. None of them sounded quite right to me.
I really like CF output. It is pain in the ass to drive the output stage, but with a good interstage transformer and 6B4 driver, it sounded very very good.
You can see some more OTL designes here:

On ebay 6C33 is $9.95, when you buy 10, and little over $10, when you buy smaller quantities. Search for 6C33C. I remember reading high failure rate of this tube working in OTL.
