Amtec Phanzen Timing net question

Can someone please help me understand the timing net of Phanzen diode bridge compressor?
the Cv response looks very smooth, but i can only make Attack working....
tried to simplify that net but no results for release control

I would also like an explanation/analysis of the circuit. Me smart not much so about circuit analysis.

Secondly, does anyone know what the primary and secondary impedances of the input and output transformers are. How much does it matter?
