Are there anyone known KSM27 mods?

My friend has an og KSM27, the gain is a little weak...I have to turn up the mic preamp gain to about 45 on my Apollo X6 to get a nice level, where other mics need about 20. I figure I would check here to see if anyone has any good mods for these to improve SNR and performance.

Might wanna check the output of the DC-DC converter on the back of the mic PCB (before whatever series resistor might be there), see if it's at a sane value (40-60v).

That is, unless some of the small 68-120pF ceramics in the mic circuit skipped being noisy and went straight to becoming a resistor (and pulling down the signal).

I own 2 of them and they have plenty of gain, and sound amazing. I wouldn't mod them at all. But yours sounds like it's got an issue, so fix it and you will be happy.
