Hi,
I would like to build a passive spring reverb like the zerotronics, but only mono with a single reverb tank. It is meant to be driven by a mixer aux out and back into a preamp, no guitar level.
Wich transformers and tank do i need? I have some sowter 1:1 600/600, will they "fit"?

DIGIT #2 - INPUT IMPEDANCE
A = 10 Ohm
B = 190 Ohm
C = 240 Ohm
D = 310 Ohm
E = 800 Ohm
F = 1925 Ohm

DIGIT #3 - OUTPUT IMPEDANCE
A = 600 Ohm
B = 2575 Ohm
C = 12000 Ohm

Also, wich type of input/output ?

DIGIT #5 - CONNECTORS
A = Input Grounded / Output Grounded
B = Input Grounded / Output Insulated
C = Input Insulated / Output Grounded
D = Input Insulated / Output Insulated

I'm very noob with this, i wish i didn't need to ask "everything".
thanks

I don't know the specs on the zerotronics units which appear to be nothing more than a stock of old OC electronics units repackaged at what looks like a whopping mark up.  :eek:

The specs you listed look like  ones for accutronics tanks.

I would contact accutronics and tell them how you wish to operate it and see what they say.  They are generally meant to be driven from a speaker level output,  i.e several watts.

In general you want high, 1K or higher input impedance, and low, 600ohm or less output impedance.

Some fun reading on the old OC Electronics tanks.

is this to be used as an outboard effect run on a aux loop for recording?

sowter 1:1 might work,

try the E-A pan,

600 in-600 out,

usually we run a transformer into a load that is 10 times the transformer Z, unless we want to transfer power, then we run it 1:1,

so  600 xfmr into a 600 pan input should work,

FYI-the original Fender Reverb trans, T4 on most circuits,

Pri-driven from 2 parallel 12at7 plates,

5000 turns of 0.0027 wire, 33 layers, 150 turns per layer, 27 henries, dcr-1830 ohms,

Sec-drives pan-99 turns of 0.019, 4 layers, 10 mH, 1 ohm,

core is standard grain iron with a 0.040 inch former,

this is a 50:1 ratio transformer, which means a very rolled off high end,
no biggy for guitar, but for an outboard reverb, you probably want better response,

you could build the Fender outboard unit, used by dick dale on the surf stuff, has a dwell control not found on most guitar amps, has a thick, lush, deep reverb, if that is what yo are after,

that way you could use it for recording, or for your guitar,

then there is the high priced Lexicon stuff, but hey, everybody uses those,
