I see you ran to grab an article instead of check the P&I data from the CDC. Did this child test negative for P&I?

You miss this part of the article? "Wyatt, Mitchell said, was diagnosed with strep and staph infections and COVID."
2x comorbidities =/= "healthy child" no offense

More from the article: "Adults should get vaccinated to protect not only themselves but children who are too young for vaccinations, said Dr. Jane Wilkov, a pediatrician at DeKalb Pediatric Center, which has vaccinated thousands of people."

This is vaccine pimping propaganda, no offense to those that surely will be offended.

I live in Atlanta. I read the article in the "newspaper" to which I subscribe. It took me 30 seconds to go track it down. The ajc is a reputable source(well over 100 years old.) I have been reading it regularly for a few decades and will vouch for it. I don't know what the CDC determined in this case, as I believe that the article (which, as I said, I read when it was published) was written before that info was available.

So hodad is gonna ignore the 2x comorbidities while offering that article (vax propaganda) as an instance of a healthy child dying.. duly noted.
While has staph and strep, somehow COVID is root cause of death... this is not a healthy child dying of COVID. I'd love to hear your rebuttal.
Per Dr Birx admission April 2020 this child will be counted as a COVID death regardless if they succumbed to strep/staph.

Arguing is what passes for discourse these days, because media profits from our anger. The vax/anti-vax classification is yet another media creation to divide and profit from us. Last I checked we are all in this same boat together. Just say no mas to helping the media pukes.

Don't drag me into the middle of other people's arguments, I'm mainly here to enforce the short list of rules. There is no rule against civil argument. Lets avoid name calling, mind reading, sweeping generalities, while those are not all technically against the rules, that should not be the default mode for discussions.

I am not like a genie in the bottle waiting to be invoked my mentioning my name... I recall a couple years ago one member reported me to me with a moderation report. :rolleyes: Duh...

The PCR protocol in question does not test positive for influenza - only for the coronavirus. The CDC suggests that labs switch to a protocol that can test (and differentiate) between the two viruses, so that a single rather than two separate tests can give the needed diagnostic information for a respiratory illness. Of course conspiracy theorists have misinterpreted this to mean that most covid cases have been mis-diagnosed, and were actually influenza.
And BTW, there is no "test" for pneumonia - it is a clinical diagnosis made by history, physical exam, imaging studies, and corroborated by blood tests (CBC and cultures). Both covid and influenza often cause pneumonia.

Holy Moly, the degree of lay ignorance in medical information is astounding - so many are just FOS, but they are so sure that they alone have an understanding of the issues.

Edit: This has gotten off the subject of vaccines I realize - maybe there should be a new thread, Covid Misinformation and Bullshit, since this is really more than politics even.

There is lots of ignorance going around but few of us embrace our own... I know I'm ignorant of so much. All I can hope for is to be less ignorant with every day that passes. That is why I look forward to the occasional useful information shared in posts here, in between the digs and daggers.

I was willing to disagree with my personal doctor and won several of those debates (using pub med abstracts to back my positions). In my judgement she was an excellent doctor but often operated from common or popular wisdom, while I dug deeper into topics of personal interest to me.

There is a lot of shit that doctors and medical science don't know, and a whole lot more that I don't know. I always try to admit my ignorance, and look for further education. It's a real pleasure to learn something new, supported by the best knowledge, data, and even common sense that we have available (even though it may turn out later to be wrong).

What I hate is someone who is wrong, and keeps insisting she (but usually he) is right even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary - but I guess in many cases that's just human nature.

I lost 2 relatives ,one of old age 2 weeks after her first flu vaccine, and the other to pneumonia since he struggled with copd.

Maybe just coincidence that both happened in the peak of flu season.
Neither were tested for flu. Will never know.

Wonder if flu will be tested more or if it'll be voluntary. And, who wins?
H1N1 or Covid if that's ever a thing.
