Hi All, Since the recrudescence and availability of this new u47 fet body and since i have been involved with it when it originally came out
I have decided to offer it for dyers getting those new body , it has meticulously been sized to be a perfect fit including the slider switch position and tolerance on the side of the body it is mounted via Dual Header Connector ( HZ deck-Amp deck) , you can fit a lot of transformer on the Tranny deck and the HZ layout is very similar to my D47Fet.

PCB are in stock now 40usd set , + mailing , i will add it to the webstore Soon

if interested please post here
so i can have a idea if i need to reorder more of those.
Best,
Dan,
I will be ordering 2 sets! I don't see it on the webstore though. I just see "round" or "square" as options. How to buy this PCB for the 47FET style body you posted?

i'd be interested in a couple, maybe more for friends, assuming there's a reliable way to get ahold of the bodies, preferably from someone who imports en masse?
Also curious about the availability of those bodies.

Thanks!

Paul
Hi Dan,

I’d be interested in a body! Do you have a price for them?
Based in the UK
Many thanks,
Silas
In an effort to answer the three questions about the availability of these mic bodies, I was able to source 2 of these u47FET bodies directly from ShuaiYin. I just emailed them directly from their website because I'd either read here or heard somewhere (can't remember) that they were the people behind the United Technologies u47 FET bodies and they responded with a bunch of pictures of some cool stuff they make. It seems like maybe they make stuff for a lot of different companies or resellers? I don't know... I have zero affiliation with them. They've been really straight-ahead to deal with though, very helpful and upfront about all the details and they made sure I knew exactly what I was getting before they sent a Paypal invoice. It isn't cheap: They charged me $145 USD each for 2 u47 FET bodies, $109 for an M49 body, and about $17 bucks for the m49 shockmount. I'm not really worried about it though, I wanted the mics to look nice when I build them. I'm very partial to the 47FET sound and vibe in the studio so it's worth it to me to get bodies that look this cool even if it's just an aesthetic boost. Shipping is hella expensive, not sure why exactly, they charged between $40 and $45 per-mic to ship them, even all in the same box, and the shipping added up to like $150. They charge you the Paypal fee too on top of the total.

I would guess you'd be able to get one of these 47 FET bodies for around $200 including shipping, or maybe a little more with the Paypal fee. Below are photos of what I'm getting from them. I just emailed their website randomly and they got right back to me, so you can too I'm sure.

Basically they sent me pictures of a bunch of other stuff they make like u87/u67, 414, 251, c12 style bodies and 47 tube style bodies but they didn't have any of those in stock this week. From what I could gather from what they told me, if they have spares from production runs for other clients they'll sell them to individuals in small quantities like what I requested and purchased. As far as being a reliable source moving forward for these builds it seems like it's only sporadic availability, but you can always email them to see what they have available at the moment. I guess I got lucky with the 47FET bodies, as I really wanted a couple more of these mics for the studio. Going to build one with Dany's M7 and one with an MK-47 from Mic parts and see what I like better in terms of the sound. Hoping Soliloqueen's regular 47 capsule comes out to compare with sometime too.

Nothing is getting close to my Bock 47 in my studio so far... I wish I knew what kind of capsule he used in there. Does anyone know? I have an original 407 model, the tube version. Maybe a question for another thread.... Figured someone might know here anyway.

Matt

Bought two along with some pcb’s for D-EF47 and the D-M49. Very excited to hear them after the builds!

Hi, Dan,

Do you have those fancy Binder connectors that are shown with your U47 bodies? If not, do you know where I can get them?

Thanks!

Paul

Sorry but those i made custom for the kits , unfortunately not for sale ,
Best,
Dan,

Binder connectors of all sorts are available from Binder in Germany and Binder USA at binder connector ➔ specialist for circular connectors. They are usually cheaper than the vintage Tuchel and Preh found on eBay and Reverb, but check both. I have purchased both large & small sizes, but they don't carry some of the really old ones seen on some Neuman and Telefunken / Schoeps.

Regards,
Ivan

Not to detract from this White Market thread, but I have already searched the Binder website and I did not find those connectors. If I missed them, please PM me with a link.

Thanks!

Anyone else having issues with orders or communication these days?

Hey Dan, I was just trying to order a u47 PCB and D7 from your website. When trying to pay and finalizing the order it said your D7 capsule kits are not available. When do you think you'll have them in stock?

Thanks!

Mike Michael

Dan,

Order page shows D-251 pcb's out of stock (as well as the 9 pin socket and the styroflex). Will there be any 251 pcb's available soon?

Regards,
Jeff
