Getting the tuning right. Maybe June? It depends on how quickly I get the money. I'm not going to be able to feasibly order less than 500 of them.
Questions for you.
1) I'm really liking the Flat 47, what is the difference physically from the K47 Clone? (I do have a BN-K7 and the Flat 47 sounds very much like it)
2) When you say you are waiting on money, are you doing pre-sales to gather enough money? I know many of us would like to help you on that.

I second the pre-sale!

It's thicker and the holes are different and the tuning is very different
I might, though I don't make much on these capsules compared to many other people who buy catalog capsules and mark up 5 to 10 times. I would need to get over a hundred pre-orders to fully fund the batch. I suppose that's not infeasible but I think I would need to establish myself a bit more to get that kind of a purchase pool.

FYI: Don't forget to check backplate isolation on your k87s. That can be finicky with the screws. Check for continuity between the two backplates and let me know if yours is isolated. I'm keeping a running tally of how many have issues with that In this first batch so that I can alter manufacturing a bit if necessary. They're tested, but things can shift. Might need bigger back plate attachment holes or isolation sleeves. If yours has a backplate connectivity issue and you're not using it as a k67, I'll replace it for you

I woild definitely be in for a pre-order if you choose to do that. Probably x2. You should do a pre-order!

Almost all current manufacturers use m1.4 with a few exceptions that use 1.6. they are not difficult to find at all

any suggestions on retailer in US48? (mcmaster-carr only has slotted and boltdepot has none.)
also, what lengths are recommended? assuming somewhere between 4 and 10mm?

x6mm. you're not going to find a retailer that's not a scam in the US. I have had excellent experiences with SCREWHOME on AliExpress for more reasonable prices. 50 pcs for a dollar @ https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2251...c0Qcwbs&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&_randl_shipto=US

You need to make a big enough order to justify faster shipping tho

It is worth noting that I include a full set of screws per capsule

What about wire? 28 gauge? 30?

And the round terminals that get used for the backplate connection? Anyone got a mouser link to those?
26, 28 or 30 will work. I use silicone insulation in mine. Many people use teflon but I find it's too stiff for capsule wires and can cause problems. All my capsules come pre-terminated so you don't need to do it yourself, but I can try and find a link to someone who sells those, or just sell them myself tbh.

I mean Mouser MUST have the terminals. I just haven't looked very hard yet. But I will.

My Arienne Audio k87/k67 pair arrived today. Besides looking great of course, they’re surprisingly heavy!
oh yes, it's quite a bit heavier than most replica capsules, for some reason. i tried to get the brass close enough, and a result of that is that they're reasonably heavier. I've got 0.7 oz for another plate I've got vs 0.9 oz for mine? I think? this is a shipping scale so grain of salt.

Sounds almost like a ribbon. The thing that sticks out to me most about this A/B demo is that all the frequencies you’d normally want to notch out with eq or use a desser on are not there in the flat 47 example. I dig. Wonder how that flat 47 track would take some eq, now.
The Flat47 sounds so much better! Are you sure its not the mic placement that's making the main difference here?

Absolutely sure! I set the mic in the same place on all the demos. Same preamp and converters too. It’s so drastically different I also had to try it in a few different pres and positions to make sure I wasn’t screwing something up. I also tried a closer up mic position with this capsule with the purpose of trying to see if placement was much of a change, and it sounded virtually the same as the 2-ish feet away placement I typically use on a sax.
