Hi, I'm new here and I'd like a couple of these. Can you please tell me how to order?

EDIT: Never mind, I found out and ordered 2.

Any ideas where to find transformers for this project? The ebay seller that is linked does not ship to Greece for some reason.

There are multiple transformer options.

From the first post in this thread: "BV-107 type transformer (Cinemag CM-5722, AMI T8, or 3U GZT-84)"

You can order direct from both Cinemag and AMI. You can also look around for retailers who sell these.

There is also one of the AMIs for sale in the Black Market right now.

There is a store in Germany that sells TAB Funkenwerk T8 transformers, but the specs shown on the product page (TAB Funkenwerk T8) are different than expected. I wonder if it's a copy-paste mistake as they are identical to the T14 transformer specs. Can anyone confirm if this is the right transformer for this build?

Any thoughts on what would be required mechanically to put two of these capsules 180° from each other to create a sort of KM86 style mic?

I ordered a couple of these on the off chance that they'll work as replacements for the standoffs in the BOM (got those too, but as everyone knows by now, they're backordered for awhile). As far as I can tell, the only differences are the height and that the ones in the BOM are "hollow." Not sure if Banzai can chime in on whether these will work (since I obviously don't have the boards yet to test), but if so, they are currently in stock.

Less height on the turret is fine, it'll fit in there nicely, BUT you might find inserting them into the PCB a little tight without enlarging the holes on the PCB, or trimming down the teflon on the turret. The reason I'd used the ones I did was that the holes make mounting C2 really easy on the underside of the board. I'm guessing you can do it with the ones you've ordered, but it's probably not quite as straight forward as poking the legs through the turret holes and soldering them in. Good luck though. It's a pain those BOM ones are back ordered at mouser!!

Luckily, Digikey have 500 in stock if you want to get a hold of the ones I specified: 11322 Keystone Electronics | Connectors, Interconnects | DigiKey

I've thought about something similar to this, but set up for XY stereo micing. For your KM86 idea we'd need a method for switching patterns and a wee bit of playing around to mount the two capsules, not to mention a new head-basket.

I stumbled upon this thread around 5:30pm Pacific, and right as I was about to pull the trigger, the site started throwing errors. If a spot opens up for a pair, please count me in.
