Title: Oi londoners & Home counties anyone up for beer neckin'
Post by: Rob Flinn on February 13, 2008, 01:37:53 PM
Now Christmas is out of the way, I though now was a pertinent time to start getting a date together for the next piss up........................ I mean technical discussion (this it what it shall be henceforth known as to wives & girlfriends)  ! !

Anyone got any preferred dates ?

It might be good to pick a date the Squid can make from the Rhonda Valley, (after all we always have at least one foreigner) !!  ;-)

I'll be in Blighty in July I think... but very likely "Ooop Naaarth". -The Tall ships race is due to finish in late July...

But you just asked about preferred dates, and... well... y'know...

Martyn,

I will be away for a week during March (working), & also have hopefully a major session on at the studio, so until I know exactly when these things are on it's difficult to say.

I'll most likely be going back to Prague in the middle of March, so the first two weeks would be ideal for me. Would definitely like to have a beer or two before I go. :)

Just so you can remind yourself of how crap the beer is here before you leave?

Let me know before you leave Dan if you don't make it to the pub meet-up as I will have a gift for you (I still owe you for letting me stay over in Prague!)

Do you have a preferable date for your leaving piss up............... I mean last night drink ??

If we try to sort this out soon then Squid might be able to get time off.

I'm around in March and absolutely up for a beer :-)
I've been threatening to meet Roddy soon anyway for a couple.
So after the 7th then ??
How about meeting in Richmond - some nice bars etc ?

Marty

Our usual haunt is the Duke of York at Victoria.   Reason being is that it is fairly central to people coming from all directions & there are easy transport links for everyone (particularly me coming up from Sussex).

I have no real problems going anywhere else, but if it's over one side of town it makes it a pain for people over the other side.

Y'all have fun now without me. Am determined to make it down to the big smoke next time.

But I'm from Yorkshire so I'll need to get a good deal on the train.

Or come North sometime and drink some proper beer!

(http://www.blacksheepbrewery.com/images/Beers/cask/blk_shp_rigg_cask.jpg) (note that strange white stuff on the top!).

It's grim up here so we have to have something to do.

particular "neckin" session.
I will catch the next one though ....
