Title: Holger's green line (1176, Pico, D-AOC, JLM-MAC) *pics*
Post by: Holger on November 23, 2008, 08:20:26 AM
Here is my green line

The front panels are custom painted by local paint shop, the color is a kind of british racing green, all panels have threads for the pots and switches which avoids having hex nuts on the front panel (except the MACs main board).

Holger, as said many times before:
ABSOLUTELY PRO LOOKING.
this doesn't look like DIY, I know a huge bunch of very expensive "pro costing" equipment which looks much more DIY.
put them in the shop :)

I could be wrong, but they look engraved.

Thanks to all for liking...
Yes, the panels are engraved by Schaeffer/Frontpanelexpress.
The Pico was the first device I built.
When you look at the pic you'll see that the R and S in Threshold and the A in Makeup are not "printed" well because I used a 0.4mm engraving tool at a 2mm letter height. This can lead to problems on a painted frontpanel. I used only the 0.2mm engraving tool later which is a little bit limitating when trying to find a good layout. I like the way I mixed 0.2 and 0.4 mm engraving tools on the Pico here.

These threads make me almost feel ashamed for the garbage looking home style builds I have done. The attention to detail is so amazing.

Gents, thanks for liking. This 2+ years old thread was reawakened by a spam posting BTW...
Unfortunately my Pico postings disappeared in the old Pico compressor forum. I'll try to add some information about my Pico builds to my website if I'll find some time.
