Title: Crystal Labs
Post by: Rocinante on May 03, 2020, 11:26:30 PM
I remember reading about this place when I was just cutting my teeth post-internship.
Pretty ingenious considering it was the 70s. I'm sure John here worked with these platforms.
Anyways,I got in a chat with the guy who designed the system and thought it was a pretty interesting read.

This link worked better for me:  https://www.soundoctor.com/crystal/index.htm (https://www.soundoctor.com/crystal/index.htm)

I'd read a bit about this studio in a TapeOp article--I'm hoping soon I'll have a chance to read through this guy's page.

This John didn't (I was east coast based).. I skimmed the link until I saw where he claimed that RE/P went down in 1978... Odd then that I was still writing articles and my column for them into the 80s (they did go down in the mid 80s after I stopped writing my column, not because I stopped of course.) Several other questionable claims but i'd have to read the whole thing to fact check it, so pass.
