looking at my bauman 283Av pcbs, and this schematic:
http://www.thediypill.phx.com.br/forumfiles/N7290_REV1.pdf

I see that theres some components called CEX1, CEX2, REX

I couldnt find these in the bom,

and i cant understand what the notes in portugese mean.

Does anyone here know?

I cant see them mounted in the pictures fabio bauman himself has of the 283av either.

It does seem to have something to do with using the 283av with gains that were intended for the neve 1290, is this correct?

And to top it of, there are multiple values for the components in the schematic, just to make things even more confusing...

i have these component designations on my 283av pcbs, so in my case theyre mounted on board.

Question is, what do they do, and do i need to mount them :green:

Bump!

anyone who has built Baumans 1272 clone? Are these needed?

Cause im about to solder my ba283av pcb to the mainboard, and once thats done i cant really get it off again easily.

those components don`t need to be mounted.as i recall, the caps are to bypass the electrolitycs.think that fabio told us somewhere in the forum, about this issue.
why are you going to solder the 283 to the main board instead of using sockets and pins?
i`m only missing the box to finnish my 1272,with jlm trannys in/out.
best regards
pedro

Do not mount this guys CEX1, CEX2, REX... they are there cos they were on the N*** schemo I use to do this.

Thanks Fabio!

What about the socket and pins? Is there any need to change or be able to unmount the 283 amp from the mainboard? Otherwise soldering it will work fine right? Am i missing something here?

Good question, I had a look at the pics and was wondering the same.

I guess there's no real need to be able to remove the daughterboard again, but if there's trouble then, ehh... so yes, better have them removable.

Dunno what was used there, maybe those same pins as often used for the various discrete opamp PCBs ?
If so, then there's more info here:

Hi Fabio, could you confirm this ?

Bye,

Peter

/edit: another thread is also about the N1272, same question, so better continue over there: /
