Hi folks:

Rat Shack used to sell foam speaker grilles that were reasonably acoustically transparent. They seem to have vanished from the Shack, and three pages of Googling yielded one place that was out of stock and another that would sell me 1 square meter for US$53, which was about 0.99 square meters more than I need. So -- anyone know a source for these things in small quantities? (This is for the rebuild of the E-V 660 microphones previously discussed. I tried Rat Shack foam windscreens, but those are far from acoustically transparent.)

Peace,
Paul

I've been using foam-backed fabric "automotive headliner" from the local fabric store. It's something like 1/4" foam with a thin cloth, and the cloth can be peeled off easily. Seems plenty transparent for microphone use.
