Thought I'd share...

Surgical spirit (is this rubbing alcohol in the US?) works well for removing the decals/labels/transfers from MXL 2001s, and doesn't touch the paint below. My modded mic is now black all over and looks a lot less MXL and a lot more neumannU87-esque. You need to rub with some cotton wool for a few minutes.

Now I just need a neumann logo to complete the look!

Thanks for sharin!

For those of you not chemically inclined, 0000 steel wool will also do the trick.

Tada! No more MXL :green: :thumb: :guinness:

Too bad they got smart and stamped the V67 =)

You all beat me too it.
I was wanting to do this and since the logos are put on
with a silkscreen (or pad printing for curved objects). All you need is alcohol
to remove it. I would suggest 99% Isopropyl you can get it at the drug store.
Seal it very tightly as it sucks up water in the air and gets comtaminated.
Put it in a flexable plastic bottle and squeeze the bottle before caping to remove most of the extra air. Yes this stuff makes a very good pc board cleaner just keep it in a tight container.
