Hi guys-

here it is, a passive summer based loosly upon one of NYDave's designs (thanks Dave!). It's a 17 channel built out of an old patchbay. Each channel is hardwired left/right. 1=L, 2=R, 3=L, R=4.. and so on.

I'm going to put it into an enclosure next week and mount the boards in that instead of the piggyback fun atop the patchbay. Also since I can't monitor through it, I might add a opamp circuit to the design.

So I found the protype boards for it here fairly inexpensive:

which I sliced up not so cleanly with a Dremel.

17 channels because I needed two channels for a reverb return + 16 for audio interface outs. I do make up gain and recording with my almost finished Baumann 1272 and/or Ap*gee mini-me. Sounds sweet so far, but although the sound seemed fuller compared to the coldness of the M*ckie 24x8, it lacks the '3D' separation of the console.
I wonder if I sum to transformers that I might get more of a 3D sound? Any help/suggesions in this area is greatly appreciated. Lundahl comes to mind for this app.. ideas?

Thanks everyone out there on the forum for all your interesting and informative posts, you have been a well of good electronics ideas.

cheers~
Jay
