The black out line is a guide, just cut and place.
So this is how you install it...
First I taped the needle over to the far right, to work on the left side first, then switch when you're done with the left side. Next take a razor and slit down the middle of the original plastic overlay. There is no glue in the middle so the plastic will sort of striaghten out. On either side of the back 'guide' plastic, there is a gap, where the overlay glues into the side. Run your razor between the side tooth of plastic and the front of the overlay to break the seal. This is very important because if you cut BETWEEN the plastic back guide and the side 'tooth' you will have nothing to hold the new overlay into. So you need to cut between the front of the overlay and the side tooth. Now just pull the plastic piece out! There is some glue on either end of the back piece, sometimes it comes out easy, some times it needs a little help from the razor. Once it's out just slide the new overlay in!
