I'm sure it would sound good, Ted fletchers stuff is usually pretty cool, but it is making the usual tiresome indutry claims that it can "sound just like an LA2A" and then "it can sound just like an 1176" Blah blah blah... if mimicking the envelope of an LA2A makes something sound like an LA2A, then why doesn't evertone from RNC to Behringer do it? Why do DIY'ers buy input and output transformers for their clones? Why use tubes? This kind of marketing is cynical - it is simply a way of making people who don't know better buy stuff because they see 1176 and LA2A in the brochure. They promise you the world and give you an atlas.

Ted should let his stuff stand on it's own merits (which it can) instead of getting into marketing bullshit.

Its kind of a shame that they didnt elect to market it responsibly and compare it to a LA4 instead of an La2a. It says right in there its using LED's not a T4b, its not like the LA4 didnt exist with that topology for comparison or something... Thats just really lame if you ask me and is enough to question any claim that the manufacturer could make... If they cant get that simple comparison right and assume everyone buying the box isnt sophisticated enough to understand that talking point, makes you wonder *what else* they are totally lying about.
