ears are the final test, but analytical tests show that teflon is the best at transferring audio without modification. polypro comes in close.
now for the ear tests, many agree that polypro sounds good as in not modifying the audio much. certain ceramics are also very near perfect. others are good for various things like tants and mica, but are subject to other issues that may arise in the design.
